could be deemed murderers
for refusing to be annexed
by Ohio, that Emily
was done with the shapes
of her home, was done
thinking about the land-
scape as part
of this terrible narrative.
Ohio pulled on a knife
on Emily.
All she’s done since
is draw pictures of Ohio
holding that knife.
I can almost smell
the breath of Ohio
in these pictures.
